Learn about Google Drive and its features. In this tutorial, learn how to use this free cloud-based program for creating professional documents and Google Workspace provided by the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church.
For the past three years, CIT has provided the CME Church with its own Google Drive Workspace for our leadership and members to have a space to work collaboratively, productively and efficiently.
Google is a secure platform provided at no charge to the College of Bishops, General Officers, Connectional Departments, Presiding Elders, and local churches. Members can reap the benefits as well.Google allows you to keep all your work in one secure place
with cloud storage. Access
and share with persons whenever you need it, from your computer, phone, or tablet. Files may be saved online/in the cloud similar to DropBox and other cloud storage services, at
no charge!
Google allows you to work with popular file types to easily open and edit common file formats like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You can also export and share files with people who don’t use Google Workspace.
Through the CME Google Drive Workspace, we (the connectional church) can:
Store highly secure documents and periodicals (i.e., The 2018 CME Discipline);
Collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations across devices. Real-time co-editing helps you get to the final version faster.
Publish e-documents for connectional events and meetings;
Establish standardized secure email accounts on thecmechurch.org domain .
The CME Google Drive platform and email addresses are available for Episcopal Districts, Presiding Elder’s Districts, and local churches
